College of Engineering at Purdue
University To Sponsor Zach Taylor At Baer Field Speedway
May 15, 2006 - Opportunity Motorsports
and Circle Bound Racing are proud to announce that the College of
Engineering at Purdue University will join ARC Racing Engines and
ARP
Bodies
as a sponsor of the number 14 CBR Late Model at this weekend’s CRA
Super Sunday at the Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, IN. Driver
Zach Taylor will look to build on the successful fourth place effort
at the Winchester Speedway last month with another successful
showing Sunday.
Opportunity Motorsports is a student
organization from Purdue University that allows students the
opportunity to be highly involved in the maintenance of a
semi-professional race team, and has teamed with veteran racer Chet
Blanton to field the CBR number 14 car. The College of Engineering
will be using Sunday’s event to promote its involvement in the auto
racing arena and with Opportunity Motorsports
Aside from supporting Opportunity Motorsports’
efforts, the College of Engineering will be holding a hospitality
event in the fan concourse at the speedway, providing information on
the degree programs at the University to visitors and potential
students, allowing them to meet and greet with members of
Opportunity Motorsports and the College of Engineering. Also, the
College will be holding a pit-stop competition for autographed
Purdue sports memorabilia, open to all visitors.
The events get underway at Baer Field Speedway
at 12:00pm with qualifying and a 2:00pm race time on Sunday May 21,
and anyone presenting a Purdue or high school student ID will
receive a $2 discount on admission.
