CRA Street Stocks And
CRA Sportsman To Compete In Big Memorial Day Event At Mt. Lawn
Speedway
Salem, IN (May 25, 2006)
– The CRA Street Stocks and CRA Sportsman Series will both be in
action on Memorial Day, Monday May 29th at Mt. Lawn
Speedway located in New Castle,
Indiana.
The MAX 93.5/96.7 FM Memorial Day 300 will feature racing action in
the Motion Motors 100 for the CRA Street Stocks, the Stacks Pancake
House 50 for the CRA Sportsman, the N.C. Eagles Lodge 50 for
ThunderMini cars and the Goodwin Brothers 100, $1000 to win event for
Thunder Cars. Mt. Lawn Speedway is a unique and challenging racetrack
that will provide exciting racing action in all four divisions
competing on Monday afternoon.
Noblesville, Indiana’s Joe Beaver
takes over the CRA Street Stocks points lead going into Monday’s
event. Beaver had three straight third place finishes to open the
season, then finished second
this
past Sunday at Baer Field Speedway to open a 7 point lead over early
points leader Rich Boyer of Anderson, Indiana, winner of the season
opening 250 lap event at Anderson Speedway. Owensboro, Kentucky native
Beau Mitchell is currently in third, 41 points behind Beaver. Mitchell
won two straight events at Winchester Speedway, but DNF’s in the
season opener at Anderson Speedway and last Sunday at Baer Field
Speedway have given Beaver and Boyer a substantial points lead over
Mitchell.
Greensboro, Indiana’s Chuck Cook is
currently in fourth in points 51 behind Beaver, while new Castle,
Indiana native Brian Hopkins is fifth 56 points behind Beaver. Hopkins
won this past weekend’s event at Baer Field Speedway after an exciting
battle with Beaver. Bubba Trinkle is currently sixth in points, Mike
Riddle Jr. in seventh, Dennis Moser in eighth, John Heck in ninth and
Eric Evans in tenth, all are expected to compete in Monday’s race.
Other top driver s expected to compete in the Motion Motors 100 are
CRA Super Series 2005 Champion Jeff Lane, Calvin Parham, Johnny Magee,
Bret Miles Jr.,
Cedar Lake, Indiana native Keith
Sterkowitz takes over the CRA Sportsman points lead after Sunday’s
event at Baer Field Speedway. Scott Hinshaw, a regular competitor in
the Mt. Lawn Speedway Late Model division is in second 12 points
behind Sterkowitz. Terry Fisher Jr. moves up to third in points after
getting the win at this past Sunday’s event, 15 points behind
Sterkowitz. Joe Beaver sets in fourth while Al Cook Jr., winner of the
series season opener at Anderson Speedway drops to fifth place after a
DNF in Sunday’s event. Tim Bennett’s #14 truck is in sixth place with
drivers Terry Burton and Josh Burton. Scott Runion, another Mt. Lawn
Speedway regular, is in seventh, Zach Hulvey is in eighth, Bob Lemen
in ninth and Rick Tackman Jr. in tenth, all the top ten drivers are
expected to compete in Monday’s event.
Pit gates will open for the MAX
93.5/96.7 FM Memorial Day 300 at Mt. Lawn Speedway at 8am, spectator
gates open and practice will begin at 10am, qualifying at 12:30pm, the
racing action will begin at 2pm.
