HOSS Ready to Race at Baer Field Sunday
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series returns to
action Sunday at Fort Wayne’s Baer Field Speedway. The half mile
speedway has hosted great HOSS action in the past and this Sunday’s
event looks to be even better for the afternoon event. Jimmy McCune
of Toledo, Ohio leads the points standings and will look to win this
event as he did in 2003.
Also on hand will be Geoff Kaiser of Fort Wayne
in the Geiger Developing, Inc. number 71k. Kaiser recently took his
Kercher powered machine to second in the series first round at
Mansfield Speedway in Ohio and has his team motivated to win in the
Summit city.
The field of cars and drivers is what makes this
race exciting. Ron Koehler from South Bend, IN will be on the charge
Sunday in the black number 10. Capitalizing on his heat race win at
Mansfield, Koehler has many laps at Baer Field and can challenge
anyone. Sam Davis will be in action in a Tom Paterson owned car.
Sightings of Craig Fordyce and fire suits are unconfirmed, but the
Huntington racer could be at the track. Richey Jacobs of Fort Wayne
will be there in Ed Kenens’ red number 35. Jerry Caryer of Ney, Ohio
has new equipment in the barn and could deliver it Sunday. Jerry’s
purple 75c would be replaced by the the more familiar red cars of
2003.
There is a practice session available Saturday
from 12-3, with overnight pit parking included in the price.
The pit gate opens Sunday at 8am, practice at 10,
qualifying at 12, and Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series racing at 2pm.
