CRA Super Series
Set To Battle In The 4th Annual Sizzle Marine Buckeye Bash Presented
By EMH&T and 92.3 WCOL At Columbus Motor Speedway
Salem, IN (May 31, 2006) – The
CRA Super Series is set once again to battle in the 4th
Annual Sizzle Marine Buckeye Bash Presented By EMH&T and 92.3 WCOL at
Columbus Motor
Speedway,
in Columbus, Ohio, this Saturday night, June 3rd. Each of
the last three CRA Super Series events with the Buckeye Bash have been
classic battles with the top series talent racing against a star
studded field on the flat 1/3-mile track.
Despite starting eighth, a first lap
spin after contact from JR Roahrig that forced a complete restart, and
some very strong racing by several drivers at the front, Jack Landis
raced his way to his first ever CRA Super Series victory in last
season’s Sizzle Marine 125 Presented By EMH&T. Crowd favorite and
Columbus native Gary St. Amant started on the pole and held the lead
for 109 of the first 110 laps before being passed on the outside by
Landis. Landis had steadily worked his way up from his eighth place
starting position to race behind St. Amant for many laps before
proving making a strong pass on the outside to take the lead and
eventually the victory.
This years Sizzle Marine 125
Presented By EMH&T will feature another very talented field of CRA
Super Series regulars against a tough bunch of local and regional
talent. Former ASA Racing Series Champion Gary St. Amant will once
again be on hand along with former ASA competitor and Columbus Motor
Speedway Champion Robbie Pyle. Local competitors Donnie " Zero" Hill,
Robbie "Big Bird" Dean, Tim "The Iceman" Ice and Dave Stacy will be on
hand to battle the CRA Super Series regulars entered such as last
seasons winner Jack Landis, 2004 Bash victor Scott Hantz, current CRA
Super Series points leader Tommy St. John, 2004 series champion Chuck
Barnes Jr., 2003 series Champion Bobby Parsley, Eddie Van Meter, Andy
Ponstein, JR Roahrig, Jeff Lane, Kenny Tweedy and Rick Turner plus
outstanding series rookies Michael Gaier, John Van Doorn, Danny
Jackson and Sondi Eden.
Other notable drivers entered include
former USA Modified Series Champion Jason Dietsch, 2005 ASA Late Model
Series Rookie Of The Year Brian Campbell, son of Fred Campbell winner
of the inaugural Buckeye Bash CRA Super Series event and former ASA
competitor Greg Usher.
Pits will open for the 4th
Annual Sizzle Marine Buckeye Bash Presented By EMH&T and 92.3 WCOL at
1pm. Practice will begin at 3:30pm, spectator gates open at 4pm, with
qualifying at 5:30pm. The race program will begin at 7pm and will
include the Sizzle Marine 125 Presented By EMH&T for the CRA Super
Series Presented By Spray Power.
