Salem, IN (March 8, 2006) –
Spencerville, Indiana’s Jason Shively is ready for his sophomore
season to begin with the CRA Super Series Presented By Spray Power at
the Music City Motorplex in Nashville on Saturday, March 18th.
Shively looks to improve upon his rookie season were his Shively
Motorsports team, owned by his father Jeff Shively, competed in 10 CRA
Super Series events including the All American
400
Weekend in Nashville.
Shively showed he could consistently
race from the back of the field towards the front with some great runs
at the beginning and end of the 2005 season which netted him a 15th
place finish in final 2005 series points. His best race of the 2005
season was at I-70 Speedway on October 1st were he finished
8th in that 150 lapper and was the awarded the top
finishing Rookie Of The Race Award. In the nine series points events
he raced, Shively improved a total of 60 positions and came from 35th
to finish 18th in the All American 300, his first ever
visit to that legendary track located at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
"We are ready for the season opener
at Nashville," remarked Shively. "We will have to use our back-up
motor from last year because of a parts issue on our good motor, but
everything else is in place for a good start to the 2006 season. We
took the car out to Baer Field Speedway for a good shake down. I am
really pumped up for this season!"
"Dennis Drogsvold is my new Crew
Chief, I’m really excited about working with him. We have a new Port
City car and a well prepared Finishline Fabricating backup, if nothing
drastic happens, we plan on making all the CRA Super Series shows this
season and have a top ten finish in series points."
Drogsvold has over
25
years of experience in racing, part of which was working with
legendary racer Rich Bickle. The team has also secured the help of 6
crewmembers to be a part of the Shively Motorsports team for the 2006
season. With redesigned colors for 2006, the team will have
sponsorship help from Softball City, Panacea Ceramic & Powder Coating,
