Jason Hogan Returns to Nashville as a Hit-maker
23-Year-Old Won AA 400 in November, Wants Spring Race Trophy Next
Jason Hogan has worn many different hats on his trips to Music City
Motorplex (TN) fan, crew member and driver. But as he enters the pit
area for this weekend's CRA Super Series All-American 150 event, he's
got a brand new one that he's proud of. He is now Jason Hogan
All-American 400 winner.
Hogan
visited victory lane in November's edition of the short track classic
and he is still on cloud nine after the biggest victory to date in his
career.
"We're definitely pumped up to go there and pumped up to be at the
track again," said Hogan. "I think the energy level of our team is
going to be awesome just as soon as we roll through the gate. To just
remember how it was in November is great. It's going to be hard to
have things any better than they turned out for the All-American 400.
We liked where we were after that race and we'd love to get back there
again."
Of
course, Hogan is hoping to leave Speedway grounds on Saturday night
with another new trophy for his collection. His team is using a
proven racecar to try and accomplish that feat.
"We're taking the same racecar back and we made a few changes to it
that I think will make it better," said Hogan. "We didn't have the
best car when we won the 400, but I think that we are going to have a
really good car this time."
There probably isn't a better place for Hogan
to taste success than at Music City Motorplex. He's been a fan of
racing at the historic Nashville oval for as long as he can remember.
"That track will always be a special place to me no matter what," said
Hogan. "I love racing there and I love the people there. Everyone is
so nice and there is so much tradition there. Anytime that you are
there, you can feel the history of the racetrack."
It's
also the perfect place for Hogan to get his 2006 season in high gear.
Finishes of sixth at Birmingham's "Early Bird" and South Alabama
Speedway's "Rattler" were a very respectable way to start off the
season, but they weren't what Hogan or his team were looking for
either.
"That wasn't really good for us," said Hogan of his two finishes so
far this year. "We haven't started out the season how we've wanted
to, but we have had decent finishes. This is going to be the place
for us to redeem ourselves. We're going to go in there and try to be
strong and have a good run. We'll be pumped up for the rest of the
year after that."
In
2006, Hogan will have plenty of races to get himself pumped up for.
"We'll be doing various stuff throughout the Southeast," said Hogan.
"We're going to run most of the Southeast Series races and
we are really looking forward to PASS starting their deal at Hickory.
I think that is going to be an awesome series to run and we plan on
supporting them as much as we can. We're going to do as much racing
as we can this year and try to pick up some of the bigger races.
We're looking forward to the Winchester 400 and the Snowball Derby.
We're going to try and go to some of the races at Mobile as well.
We're just going to be all over and hopefully, we'll be getting some
wins and gaining a lot of experience to help better myself for the
future."
