Danny Jackson To
Compete For CD-2 Rookie Of The Year Honors
Salem, IN (March 12, 2006) –
DAJAK Motorsports has announced that third generation driver
Danny
Jackson will compete with the CRA Super Series in 2006 with the goal
of capturing the CD-2 Rookie Of The Year Award. DAJAK Motorsports has
been a familiar figure with the CRA Super Series since the series
began in 1997. The familiar orange #45 raced by Dave Jackson, father
of Danny, has made over 80 starts with the CRA Super Series since
1997. Dave has decided to turn over the late model driving to his son
for the upcoming 2006 season.
"I won’t be racing this season,"
stated Dave Jackson. "We are taking Danny’s racing career to the next
level full-time with the CRA Super Series with hopes of getting him
into the ARCA RE/MAX Series and maybe even higher down the road. I
felt like it was best for Danny’s future if I stepped out of the car
and became his Crew Chief and Spotter for this season. I plan on
racing again after Danny’s future is set."
Danny has been a familiar face with
the CRA Super Series in the past. Danny has been helping his dad for
several seasons and raced in six CRA Super Series point events and one
non-points event during the 2004 season for car owner Wally Bein.
Danny’s best finish that year was 9th in the non-points
event at Baer Field Speedway, the same night that Dave destroyed his
car in a wicked crash off turn three, that saw every piece of the body
torn off the car. Dave walked away from the crash with no injuries.
Danny also recorded a 17th place finish at the June IRP
event that season in a field of 30 cars, which was his best finish in
a series points event to date.
The
22-year-old Loveland, Ohio native had a break out season of racing in
2005. Danny competed in both an ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series and
in his Legend Car. Danny was the 2005 ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck
Series Rookie Of The Year getting one win, two seconds and a third
place finish while also capturing three poles and finishing third in
overall points. In 32 starts in his Legend Car Danny had 17 feature
wins, 30 top five finishes, besting 277 other drivers in winning the
2005 Legends National Championship.
Danny will campaign an orange #5 Howe
Chassis Chevrolet with sponsorship from his family’s business Redbank
Transportation and Tri-State Sterling Trucks starting at the All
American 150 CRA Super Series season opener on Saturday, March 18th
at the Music City Motorplex located at the Fairgrounds in Nashville,
Tennessee. More information is available on Danny Jackson at
