Chuck Barnes Jr. Ready
For Return Visit To Nashville
(March 15, 2006) – 2004 CRA
Super Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr. is ready to return to Nashville
for the CRA Super Series All American 150 at the Music City Motorplex
this Saturday night.
Barnes
will be looking to get his second Guitar Trophy for winning a race at
the historic Fairgrounds racetrack, he received his first when he won
the prestigious All American 300 in November of 2004.
"I’ll never forget the feeling of
winning that race," explained Barnes Jr. "What a way to end a great
season, we won the series championship, then come to the All American
300, set fast time, then got the win holding off Jason Hogan and Eddie
Hoffman. It was great getting that Guitar Trophy, it’s the neatest
trophy I think you could ever win!"
"But that all happened in 2004, 2005
was not a great season for me. We didn’t run nearly as well at last
years All American 300. I could just never get the car to handle like
we did in 2004. We came down and tested a couple of weeks ago. Things
went real well, I think we will be in a position to do a lot better
this time."
Barnes will be back in his own
equipment for this event. He competed in a Curtis Venable car at
Speedfest 2006 in Lakeland. He competed in Greg Boone’s car in the
Pete Orr Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway during Speed Weeks were
he was Fast Qualifier and raced from his 8th place starting
position to finished second to Travis Kittleston.
"I want to thank Curtis Venable and
Greg Boone for letting me race their cars in Florida. We had a great
car at New Smyrna, I wish there had been a late caution, I think I
could have had something for Travis, but it was great to get a good
finish in that event"
Barnes’s #55 Port City Monte Carlo
will have sponsorship help for the All American 150 event from Anytime
Towing and Speed Media. Chuck Barnes Jr. Racing is still seeking major
and minor marketing partners for the 2006 race season. Interested
parties should contact Chuck Barnes Jr. Racing at 502-298-5544. More
