CD-2 Rookie Award Program Supported By Many Sponsors

Salem, IN (March 23, 2006) – The 2006 CRA Super Series CD-2 Rookie Award Program is being supported by several sponsors providing a great package for each events CD-2 Rookie Of The Race Award winner and for the 2006 CD-2 Rookie Of The Year. Each CD-2 Rookie Of The Race Award winner will receive a $100 cash bonus from CD-2 Performance Products and a $25 Product Certificate from Cometic Gasket.

Coldwater, Michigan driver Michael Gaier was the CD-2 Rookie Of The Race for this past Saturday’s All American 150 at the Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. That event was the 2006 season opener for the CRA Super Series. Gaier was one of only two registered rookies to make the feature event, and was the only one to make it on his qualifying time. Gaier qualified a very impressive 13th out of the 53 cars that took qualifying times. It was Gaier’s first time racing at the Music City Motorplex and his first ever race with the CRA Super Series. Gaier finished the race in 18th position, one spot ahead of fellow rookie Sondi Eden, who was competing in her first ever race in a stock car. Gaier lost several laps in the pits making repairs after being involved in another competitors wreck.

The CD-2 Rookie Of The Year, which will be determined by the registered rookie who accumulates the most points in their best 15 series points events of the 17 scheduled, will receive a $1000 cash bonus from CD-2 Performance Products. That is just the beginning of the awards they will receive, the CD-2 Rookie Of The Year will also receive the following: a bare chassis from FLF Racecars for the FLF Racecars Rookie Performance Award, a Type A complete ABC Body from Five Star Racecar Bodies, a carburetor from Blake Carburetion, a racing cam from Reed Cams, a $500 Product Certificate towards a racing uniform from Hinchman Racing Uniforms, a $1500 Product Certificate for a web site design from Speed Media, a $200 Product Certificate RJS Racing Equipment, a $200 Product Certificate from Cometic Gasket, a $200 Product Certificate from Tex Racing, a set of Restraint Belts from Impact Racing, a $250 Product Certificate from RaceDriverCards.com, a $100 Product Certificate from PitStopUSA.com, a $100 Product Certificate from AFCO Racing Equipment, and a $100 Product Certificate from AP Racing Brakes.

The second place finisher in the CD-2 Rookie Of The Year Standings will receive a $300 cash bonus from Cometic Gasket and $50 in Product Certificates from Ringers Gloves.

In all there are eight drivers registered for the 2006 CD-2 Rookie Award Program including the two mentioned above. The others are Danny Jackson, Kyle Hadley, Johnny Jenkins, Rich Segvich, Alec Carll and Johnny Van Doorn. The event at the Music City Motorplex was a special points event, no competitor trying to compete in the event received less than 80 points. Going into the next CRA Super Series event at Anderson Speedway on April 15th, all eight registered rookies have one event with 80 points in the CD-2 Rookie Of The Year Standings.
