Zach Taylor Ready For IRP Event With
Purdue College of Engineering On The Car And At The Track
June 14, 2006 - The Opportunity
Motorsports/Circle Bound Racing number 14 car will hit the track again
this weekend, when the series returns to Indiana after a couple
weekends out of state.
The
famed Indianapolis Raceway Park will host the CRA Super Series
Wastequip/Galbreath 100 in conjunction with the USAR Hooters Pro Cup
Aaron’s 212 this Saturday, June 17th. Nashville hot-shoe
Zach Taylor will again be piloting the Chet Blanton owned Purdue
College of Engineering/ARC Racing Engines/ARP Stock Car Bodies
machine.
In 2006, Taylor’s first trips to race tracks have
proven fruitful. With a 4th place finish at Winchester
Speedway and a hard-earned 6th place effort at Baer Field,
a track to which his first reaction was “I hate flat tracks”, the OM
team is confident in another great run at IRP. After a very
successful test at the .686 mile facility last Friday, the team feels
that it will be a force to be reckoned with, and may surprise some of
the more well known series invaders.
On the other side of the grandstands, the Purdue
College of Engineering will again be hosting “Start your Engines with
Purdue”, an interactive display featuring staff of the College of
Engineering and information regarding the various engineering degrees
and Motorsports programs at Purdue University. Also, come see the
number 14 car up close and personal as it will be on display in the
Purdue area, and try your hand at the Purdue Pit-Stop Competition,
brought to you by the Indy United Racing League (www.indyurl.com).
The fastest times will receive great prizes.
The Opportunity Motorsports crew look forward to
a successful weekend on both sides of the fence, and invite you to
come join us this Saturday June 17th, gates open at 3:00pm,
racing gets under way at 7:00pm.
