Barnes Jr. Ready For 4th
Annual Buckeye Bash At Columbus Motor Speedway
Louisville, KY (June 1, 2006)
– After a week off, Chuck Barnes Jr. is ready to climb behind the
wheel and hopefully continue his recent winning streak he started two
weeks ago with his new
sponsor
Crown Spray Power Multi-Purpose Cleaner. Barnes started the streak at
Salem Speedway on Saturday, May 20th getting his second win
of the season in the KY Clutch & Performance Late Models, he was also
the fast qualifier for the third time in three events. Barnes Jr.
finished 2nd in the season opener at Salem Speedway. With
the win Barnes Jr. now holds a 31-point lead in KY Clutch &
Performance Late Model points at Salem Speedway.
Barnes Jr. got his second win of that
weekend at Baer Field Speedway with the CRA Super Series making a late
pass of Eddie Van Meter and Scott Hantz after they had made contact.
Barnes now looks to get his second CRA Super Series win of the season
in this Saturday’s Sizzle Marine 125 in the 4th Annual
Buckeye Bash at Columbus Motor Speedway. Barnes Jr. last raced at
Columbus Motor Speedway in 2004 with the CRA Super Series, his
championship-winning season. At that event Barnes was the Fast
Qualifier and finished in 10th after his cars handling went
away.
"I’m looking forward to going back to
Columbus Motor Speedway," remarked Barnes Jr. "We had a good fast
set-up for qualifying there, now I need keep the car fast for the
race. I’ve been able to get this car working good on flat tracks, I
learned a lot at the race at Hickory Motor Speedway, things that
hopefully will help me in this Saturday’s race."
In addition to Crown Spray Power,
Barnes Jr. will have sponsorship help for this Saturday’s race from
Anytime Towing, Speed Media, ARP Stock Car Bodies, Bassett Racing
Wheels, Draco Springs and Blake Carburetion.
