Al Cook, Jr. Wins CRA Sportsman

Al Cook, Jr. took the lead on the seventh lap,
was briefly passed by Zach Hulvey retook the lead when Hulvey slid
into the wall in the second turn and held off a strong challenge from
Terry Fisher, Jr. to win the CRA Sportsman 40. Fisher ran beside
Cook for a few laps after a late caution flag but could not get around
for the lead. "I ran my right rear tire off to get there, and
just could not hold it there at the end." Fisher commented.
"I love this track!" A jubilant Cook stated.
"I want to say thanks to RJ and the CRA for putting this on! I
hope they keep doing it. Its a very good series."

Zach Hulvey Fastest Qualifier
for CRA Sportsman
Zach Hulvey set fast time for the CRA Sportsman with a
lap time of 17.582 seconds for an average speed of 102.377mph.
Terry Fisher, Jr. was the fastest in practice all day and second
fastest qualifier. Al Cook, Jr. was third, Jimmy Spillers fourth
and Keith Sterkowitz fifth. Hulvey then drew a 10 for the invert
putting Terry Cater on the pole.

Al Cook, Jr. and Scott Runion Win Heat Races
Al Cook, Jr. took the lead on the first lap and
ran out to a solid lead before Zach Hulvey worked his way through
traffic. Hulvey chased Cook but could not catch him giving Cook
the win in the first heat. Scott Runion passed early race leader
Justin May to take the lead adn never look back to win the second heat
over Terry Cater and Ric Pfeifer.

Vie for the Title
"King of the Winged Sprints"
On a beautiful sunny warm day at Winchester
Speedway 30 cars are at the track to compete for the title "King of
the Winged Sprints" including the 2005 King, Cameron Dodson. The
"King of the Winged Sprints" competition brings together both the
Auto Value Super Sprint Series and the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series.
The event counts as a point’s event in the season championship for
both winged sprint car series.
The days events also include the American
Modified Series and the CRA Sportsman Series.
