Late Models Announce Format and Payoff For Three Events At Winchester
Speedway
Incentives to Include
$1500 Bounty and Bonuses
Winchester, IN
(July14, 2006) – Champion Racing Association Officials have
announced the format and payoff for the three CRA Outlaw Super Late
Model events that will be held at Winchester Speedway in the up coming
months. The first event will be a 100-lap feature on Sunday, August 13th,
the
second will be a 75 lap feature with the World Stock Car Festival
Presented By Maple-Tarr Chrysler Dodge Jeep on Labor Day Weekend
September 3rd and 4th and the third will be a 75
lap feature on Saturday, October 14th with the Winchester
400 weekend. The events will pay $3000 to win and $450 to start.
Points will be kept for the three events and the first ever CRA Outlaw
Super Late Model Champion will be crowned.
The Outlaw Super Late
Models made a return to Winchester Speedway for the first time in many
years last season. The first event featured the Main Event Series that
saw Jeff Lane set a new track record for a stock car turning a lap in
14.988 seconds averaging over 120 miles per hour around the famous
High-banks during qualifying. Scott Hantz got the victory that day
when the event was stopped at lap 58 because of rain. Jeff Lane
finished in second with Bobby Parsley in third. The second Outlaw
Super Late Model event of 2005 was a CRA sanctioned event held on
Labor Day Weekend with Lane getting the victory over Brian Ross and
Scott Hantz.
The three events will
also have some added incentives including a $1500 bounty if anyone can
win a CRA Outlaw Super Late Model feature over Winchester Speedway
veteran late model racers Jeff Lane, Scott Hantz, Bull Baker, Bobby
Parsley and Eddie Van Meter. All five of those racers are expected to
compete in the three CRA Outlaw Super Late Model events at Winchester
Speedway.
Bonuses of $300 and
$200 will be paid out to the top two finishers from the top 30 in
points from each of five groups of Outlaw Super Late Models including
racers from Berlin Raceway, Kalamazoo Speedway, Toledo /Flat Rock
Speedways, from the CRA Outlaw Super Late Models, and racers from any
other track or series. Driver will only be eligible for a bonus from
one group and only in the group they’re ranked the highest in points.
There must be at least three teams present within a group for a bonus
to be paid.
CRA Outlaw Super Late
Models will use the Alliance Rules, cars will weigh 2700 pounds, cars
with engines over 363 will weigh 2800 pounds. Hoosier 45’s and 56’s
will be the tires used. Tires must be purchased at the track and
remain in impound to start an event in the top 15. Entry forms are
