RACECAR DRIVER SONDI EDEN TO TOSS OUT FIRST PITCH.

Racecar driver Sondi Eden has been invited by the Indianapolis Indians to throw out the first pitch at the Indians vs. Toledo Mudhen game Monday July 31st at 7 P.M.

Eden is the first woman to win a championship in the fifty-year history of the United States Auto Club. (The USAC regional/Indianapolis Speedrome midget car series in 2004).  She is also the first woman to race a sprint car on the dangerous high-banked speedway at Salem, Indiana – she finished 4th.

Just this past winter Eden was one of 25 drivers to be chosen from over 1700 entries to compete in the Discovery Channel’s Roush Racing: Driver X Gong Show.  Eden was voted the most popular driver based on the national Internet voting... That helped her garner a Roush Racing driver development contract and this season she is racing for Jim Winters of the Hendricks County Motorsports team with Old National Bank & Impact Racing as associate sponsors.  They are currently 7th in points and 2nd in the rookie standings.  Eden hails from Crawfordsville, In.  She is a graduate, with honors from Morehead State University and is a professional real estate appraiser.

Eden received a full division I basketball scholarship and was a three-year starter.
