Greg Boone Heads
To New Smyrna Speedway For Riverfest 250
Salem, IN (January 12, 2006) –
Part-time CRA Super Series competitor Greg Boone is heading south to
New Smyrna Speedway in Samsula, Florida to compete in this Saturday’s
Riverfest
250
kicking off the 2006 racing season at the famed Florida speed plant.
Boone will be competing in the 100-lap Super Late Model portion of
Riverfest 250 on Saturday night. Boone hopes to gain some valuable
experience competing this weekend before returning to New Smyrna
Speedway for the 40th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock
Car Racing from February 10th through February 18th.
"I’m looking forward to getting back
in the racecar and being in some warmer weather," remarked Boone. "We
are going to use this as a test and tune for February at New Smyrna
and hopefully improve upon what we did there last year. I’ve got some
great help with me this weekend, I really appreciate them all taking
the time to help me out!"
A
large field of cars is expected for Saturday night’s event since it is
the first race of the year for FASCAR and New Smyrna Speedway. A few
Super Late Model teams will also be testing their cars for the Mark
III Speedfest at USA International Speedway on January 27th
and 28th. Several of Florida’s best Super Late Model racers
will be on hand including Roush Racing Driver X Television Series
drivers Jeff Choquette, the winner of this event in 2005, and Jason
Boyd.
2004 CRA Super Series Champion Chuck
Barnes Jr. will be the Crew Chief on Boone’s Lefthander, Boone Well
Drilling sponsored machine this weekend with assistance from renowned
Louisville area late model guru Billy Harris. Also assisting Boone
this weekend will be Daryl Hadley, car owner for part-time CRA Super
Series competitor Kyle Hadley, tire specialist Richie Alexander, Ralph
Copeland and Jessie Harris.
