Immediate Release – February 17, 2006
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – BoGo Racing and Clemons Motorsports announced today
that they are joining forces in 2006 with driver Joshua Clemons.
Based in Indianapolis, the new partnership has an aggressive schedule
in 2006 that includes competing for the Salem Speedway Late Model
Rookie of the Year Championship and the Ford Focus Midgets Indiana
Regional Series Championship. In addition to competing for the two
championships, Joshua will enter up to five races in the CRA Super
Series and up to six races in the Ford Focus Midwest Series.
“I am
excited about the partnership with Clemons Motorsports,” stated BoGo
Racing owner Bo Gordley, “Joshua has unbelievable talent and car
control at just 17 years old. Watching his on-track choices in an
open wheel car, on both pavement and dirt, have truly been
impressive.”
Joshua,
a senior in Indianapolis at Warren Central High School, begin racing
at the age of seven in the Central Indiana Karting Association (CIKA).
At the age of 12, Joshua won two CIKA Championships in the 2 cycle
and 4 cycle classes. Joshua then graduated to the Super Karts USA
Shifter Kart series in 2000 and 2001 and posted third and second place
finishes respectively in the series Championships. In 2002, Joshua
stepped up again to the NAMARS Kenyon Midgets at the Indianapolis
Speedrome and finished sixth in Championship points in his rookie
season. The focus was the USAC Ford Focus series in 2005 where Joshua
competed on 17 tracks in seven states recording eight wins and an 81.6
top-10 finish percentage.
“Moving
Joshua to stock cars is a natural progression,” said Jeff Clemons
owner of Clemons Motorsports and Joshua’s father. “He is compared
often to Ryan Newman so in following Ryan’s footsteps; stock cars are
the next step. Tracks like Salem Speedway, Indianapolis Raceway Park,
and Anderson Speedway are historical facilities that should be on
every driver’s resume. Racing at Salem along with the CRA Super
Series will provide experience at these tracks and more.”
Over 35
events in five states are on tap for the young Indianapolis native.
Along with spending time in the cockpit and the shop, Joshua will be
attending Purdue University at IUPUI in Indianapolis.
To
increase visibility and fan interaction, BoGo Racing/Clemons
Motorsports and driver Joshua Clemons have launched their official
team website,
