Late Models And ARCA Lincoln Welder Trucks Headline Sunday’s Racing At
Winchester Speedway
Winchester, IN (August 9, 2006)
– The CRA Outlaw Super Late Models and the ARCA Lincoln Welder Truck
Series headline this Sunday’s racing action at Winchester Speedway.
This will be
the
inaugural event for the CRA Outlaw Super Late Models, and will be the
first of three shows featured on the High Banks of Winchester Speedway
this season. Last year saw the return of Outlaw Late Models to
Winchester Speedway for the first time in many years with Scott Hantz
getting the victory in the Main Event Series Outlaw Late Model Event
while Jeff Lane got the victory in the Labor Day World Stock Car
Festival Outlaw Late Model event at Winchester Speedway.
Sunday’s Winchester 100 for the CRA
Outlaw Super Late Models will pay $3000 to win and $450 to start.
Expected entries include both Hantz and Lane plus Winchester Speedway
late model
veterans
Eddie Van Meter, Bull Baker, Bobby Parsley, Kenny Tweedy, Brian Ross
and Ohio’s Cord Ehrhart. Jeff Lane set a new track record for a stock
car turning a lap in 14.988 seconds averaging over 120 miles per hour
around the famous High Banks last season, that record could possibly
be broken on Sunday.

The ARCA Lincoln Welder Truck Series
will make a return visit on Sunday. Last year CRA Super Series Rookie
contender Danny Jackson set a new track record for the series in
qualifying with a lap at 17.066 seconds. Brian Rowe grabbed the early
lead but was passed by Brett Rowe on lap 16. Brett Rowe would go on to
get the win followed by Chad Guinn in second and Brian Rowe in third.
Nineteen trucks are entered for Sunday’s Lincoln Welders 50 led by
current series points leader Paul Hahn from Canton, Michigan who has a
105 point lead over veteran Bill Withers of Columbus, Ohio who is also
entered. Alex Hart will make the long haul from Galena, Kansas for
Sunday’s show while Norm Weaver make’s the second longest haul from
Clarksburg, West Virginia.
The MAX 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks
return to action this Sunday lead by current series points leader Joe
Beaver of Noblesville, Indiana. Beaver currently leads second place
Rich Boyer by 21 points and has a 51 point lead over third place Brian
Hopkins. Owensboro, Kentucky native Beau Mitchell is expected to be on
hand, Mitchell was victorious in both MAX 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stock
events held at Winchester Speedway so far this season. Mitchell will
have strong competition from the top three in points plus other top
drivers expected include Chuck Cook, Justin Trinkle, Mike Riddle Jr.,
Craig Cookingham, Rod Phipps, Doug Riddle, Phil Jenkins, and 2005
series champion Dean Baker.
Pit gates will open Sunday at 8am,
Spectator gates open at 10am, Practice will begin at 10:30am with
Qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2pm
