Scott Hantz Leads
The Scott Performance Wire Six State Challenge Heading Into Friday’s
A.P. Racing Engines
100 Presented By Spray Power at Toledo Speedway
Salem, IN (August 7, 2006) –
CRA Super Series veteran racer Scott Hantz leads the Scott Performance
Wire Six State Challenge standings, an award program based upon six
selected CRA Super Series points events in the six states the series
will have points events in 2006, heading into Friday’s A.P. Racing
Engines
100 Presented Spray Power at Toledo Speedway. The event was originally
scheduled for Sunday, July 2nd, but was postponed because
of weather. The Scott Performance Wire Six State Challenge began with
the All American 150 CRA Super Series season opening event at the
Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee on
March 18th. The second event was the Berlin 125 At Berlin
Raceway in Marne, Michigan. The third event was Saturday, July 29th
at New Paris Speedway in New Paris, Indiana. After the first three
events Hantz is the leader with 274 points earned in those three
events. The Angola, Indiana native is also the current points leader
in the CRA Super Series Season Championship points race.
The Scott Performance Wire Six State
Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the
six events a $600 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires. The
second place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge
will receive a $400 bonus. The third place driver in the Scott
Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $200 bonus. Scott
Performance Wire will also award the 2006 CRA Super Series Champion
with a set of Scott Performance Wires and an additional set of Scott
Performance Wires that will be given away by random draw of the top
fifteen teams in final series points at the 2006 series awards
banquet.
Indianapolis, Indiana native Tommy
St. John has used his recent string of good finishes to climb to
second in the Scott Performance Wire Six State Challenge with 268
points. The 2005 CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year is also second in
the CRA Super Series Season Championship point’s race, three
points behind Hantz. With his win at New Paris, JR Roahrig is now in
third place with 257 points, Jack Landis is in fourth with 256 points
and Jeff Lane is fifth with 238 points.
The other two events in the Scott
Performance Wire Six State Challenge will be the August 19th
event at I-70 Speedway located in Odessa, MO and will conclude with
the September 24th, 41st Annual National Short Track
Championships at Rockford Speedway located in Rockford, Illinois.
