Barnes Jr. Gets Fourth Place Finish At Lanier National Speedway

Next event Will Be Friday With The CRA Super Series at Toledo Speedway

Louisville, KY (August 6, 2006) – Chuck Barnes Jr. had to wait an extra day after rain showers postponed Saturday’s, Saturday Of Speed with the PASS South Series at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia, until Sunday afternoon, but Barnes Jr.’s wait was worth it as he came away with a fourth place finish in the 150 lap event that ran green to checkers with no yellow flags and was one by local driver Jason Hogan.

"We had a pretty good run considering it was my first time at Lanier National Speedway," remarked Barnes Jr. "We struggled a little bit with the tires and a getting a good set up in the car, but considering the talent that was here I feel good about our finish. Everyone knew Jason Hogan would be the one to beat here, and he was, he did a great job today, it was his day for sure!"

Hogan took the lead on lap 20 and never looked back. Ryan Lawler made a late run at Hogan, but had to settle for second place. Current PASS South Series points leader Mike Rowe finished in third, right in front of Barnes Jr.

"We were closing on Rowe there at the end, but we just ran out of laps. It was a good clean race, it’s always good to have a race with no torn up racecars. I think having the event run green to checkers shows the talent that was in this race and that it is a great place to race!"

Barnes Jr. will have a short time to get ready for his next racing event, which will be with the CRA Super Series this Friday, August 11th at Toledo Speedway. The event was originally scheduled for July 2nd, but was rescheduled because of rain.

"I’m looking forward to going back to Toledo Speedway with the CRA Super Series. We had a good run there a couple of years ago when we finished second to Jeff Lane. It’s a fast track and a great facility that the ARCA RE/MAX Series competes at twice a year. It would be a great place to get back into victory lane!"

Barnes Jr.’s #55 Port City Monte Carlo will have sponsor support for Friday’s CRA Super Series event from Crown Spray Power Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Anytime Towing, Speed Media, ARP Stock Car Bodies, AP Racing, Hawk Performance and Blake Carburetion.
