2006) – Anderson Speedway returns to racing action on Saturday,
April 15 with the return of the CRA Super Series Late Models in the
Anderson 125 presented by Great Deals and Computer
Renaissance. Race fans will be treated to 125 green flag laps in the
Late Model event as caution laps will not count. The Star Press
Saturday Night Series will also showcase Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky
Figure 8’s and Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks.
The CRA Super Series Late Models will make their 39th
appearance at the World’s Fastest Quarter-Mile Oval with two-time
series champion Brian Ross winning the most races with a total of nine
checkered flags. Other multiple event winners include Kenny Tweedy,
Junior Hanley, Bobby Parsley and Jim Cooper.
Twenty-two drivers have scored at least one victory at Anderson. In
last year’s April appearance at Anderson, former division champion
Bobby Parsley visited the Winner’s Circle, finishing ahead of
Indianapolis’ Eddie Van Meter and Ohio’s
Jack
Landis.
Several local drivers are expected to be in the starting field for
the Anderson 125 presented by Great Deals and Computer Renaissance
including Bull Baker of Daleville, Jim Crabtree Jr. of Muncie, Jeff
Lane of Knightstown, Kenny Tweedy of Greenfield and Rick Turner of
Yorktown.
On Saturday, spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing
beginning at 8. Admission is $13 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12.
Children five and under get in free.
