Dexter Bean On His
Way To Nashville
Racing is a sport filled with peaks
and valleys. At The National Short Track Championships in Rockford, IL
October 29, Dexter found a valley finishing a disappointing 22nd
after a melted wire and brake problems ended his day early in the CRA
250 presented by Chicago International Truck. With that behind Dexter
and BlackJack Racing, the team heads this weekend to Nashville hoping
for a peak performance in the state of Tennessee.
The familiar #25 Chevy Monte Carlo,
carrying sponsorship from Five Star Telecom, will this week carry the
number 125N when it leaves Westby, WI on Thursday for The All-American
400 at The Music City Motorplex to run one of the premier short track
events in the country. The race is sanctioned by both CRA (Champion
Racing Association Super Series) and SAS (O’Reilly Southern All Stars)
pitting drivers from the north and south in competition against each
other. Several series from across the country are expected to be
represented with competitors earning a starting spot through
qualifying and last chance races. Early entries numbered in excess of
fifty.
Dexter and his team have not run the
Music City Motorplex previously. They will take the same car run at
Rockford to Nashville and are excited about this trip and
participation in this event. While crew chief, Chris Bires, has been
preparing the #125N Five Star Telecom Monte Carlo this week, Dexter
has been in Las Vegas attending the SEMA and AAPEX shows making
contacts and seeking sponsorship partners for the 2006 season.
"This has been an interesting week",
said Dexter. "We have met a great many people and made some great
partnership contacts. However, it is now time to get back on the
track. At Vegas I have talked with other drivers, including Erin
Crocker, about racing at the Music City Motorplex. They’ve shared some
very worthwhile information, and I look forward to getting in the car
and on the track there. I hear it is a fun track and we should do
well".
