Steve Moenck To Race For Points
Leader TK Racing At Columbus Motor Speedway
Salem, IN (May 31, 2005) –TK
Racing, the current leader in CRA Super Series Owner Points, announced
today that Mokena, Illinois native Steve Moenck would be the team’s
driver at this Saturday’s CRA Super Series event at Columbus Motor
Speedway. The team’s regular CRA Super Series driver, Eddie Hoffman,
will be driving for TK Racing in the NASCAR AutoZone Midwest Series
event at Colorado National Speedway, which is also this Saturday.
"We had planned to run both series
from the start of the season, but we weren’t sure which race Eddie
would drive this Saturday until today," remarked Tom Kmak, owner of TK
Racing. "We had already committed to do the Colorado NASCAR show,
including purchasing plane tickets and getting hotel rooms. We really
hate to not have Eddie at Columbus, but he has a lot of experience on
the bigger tracks, and really likes racing on them. We are confident
Steve will do a great job for us at Columbus this weekend."
Kmak went on to say, "We will be
running the rest of the CRA Super Series schedule in an effort to win
the Owners Championship. This will be the only event that Eddie will
miss, so our goal is to also try and win the drivers championship as
well, we’ll just have to do it on one less race than everyone else!"
Moenck finished 7th in CRA
Super Series points in 2004 and captured his first CRA Super Series
victory at Shady Bowl Speedway in May of last year. Moenck has raced
in only two CRA Super Series events this season for his own team while
seeking sponsorship dollars to run the rest of the season. Moenck
finished 22nd in the season opener at Anderson Speedway
after a broken rear end. He was the fast qualifier at the series
Indianapolis Raceway Park event and finished 4th in that
race.
