Chuck Barnes Jr. To Race First
2005 CRA Super Series At Winchester Speedway
Louisville, KY (May 13, 2005)
– 2004 CRA Super Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr. will make his first
2005 start with the CRA Super Series in the Manning Service 100
Presented By Spray Power
at
Winchester Speedway on Sunday, May 22nd. Barnes decided not
to defend his point’s championship this season, instead he focusing on
trying to race at some different events around the country in order to
further his racing career. Barnes is also the Crew Chief this season
for CRA Super Series part-time competitor Greg Boone.
So far Barnes has raced two events at
Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, North Carolina in the Future
Cellular Big 10 Series. The Louisville, Kentucky native finished
second in the first Future Cellular Big 10 show on March 26th
to Dennis Schoenfeld, in his first ever event at the challenging
tri-oval. Barnes made the long haul back to Concord on April 30th
for the second Future Cellular Big 10 Series show were he originally
finished sixth in the event, but was moved to tenth by track officials
because of incidental contact with another car on the white flag lap
that caused that car to spin.
Barnes has also competed in two
Kentucky Clutch & Performance Late Model events at Salem Speedway.
Barnes finished third in the season opener at Salem Speedway on April
10th in a car with no power steering. Barnes came back and
finished second on April 24th in an event ran in
conjunction with the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
Barnes’s #55 Port City Monte Carlo
will have sponsorship help for the Winchester Speedway event from
Clifty Farms Country Hams, Blake Carburetion and Hawk Performance.
Chuck Barnes Jr. Racing is still
seeking major and minor marketing partners for the 2005 race season.
