Indianapolis, IN (June 23, 2005) – Steve Keller and Tommy
St. John are anxiously awaiting the trip north to Schererville,
Indiana for this weekend’s 4th Annual Elmer Musgrave
Memorial 100 Presented by Texas Corral. St. John will be
piloting Keller Motorsports’ Tri-axle Trucking Chevrolet on Saturday,
June 25 in the first appearance for he Indiana-based, template late
model series.
Illiana Motor Speedway was the site St. John made his first
appearance in the Championship Racing Association (CRA) Racing series
and an impressive appearance it was. St. John stayed on the lead lap
and posted a top-15 finish after qualifying 21 out of 37 teams. St.
John has had additional success at Illiana, located just 30 minutes
south of Chicago, by scoring three top-5 finishes in the CARS Super
Truck series in 2000 and 2001.
"I cannot wait to get this new car to Illiana this weekend," said
St. John referring to the recently purchased Port City chassis by
Keller Motors, "this car has been fast every where we have gone and
with Jim’s (Cooper) help, I am feeling really good about the race".
St. John currently sits second in the Finishline
Fabricating/Cosmetic Gasket Rookie of the Year standing heading
into event #10 on the 2005 CRA schedule. If the last few races are any
indication what is to come from the team, the Rookie of the Year
Championship is definitely within reach.
"This kid is the real deal," commented team owner Steve Keller, "he
has been around racing all of his life. He is smart driver, but drives
hard. The only trouble he has had on the track is when accidents have
found him. Without of few of those, we would be in victory lane by now
and that is saying a lot for a Rookie competing on tracks such as
Winchester Speedway and IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park)."
To increase visibility and fan interaction, Keller Motorsports and
Tommy St. John will be launching their official team website,
www.tommystjohn.com on July
10, 2005.
