Motorsports Development Driver Chase Austin To Make CRA Super Series
Debut at Illiana Motor Speedway
Salem,
IN (June 23, 2005) - The 15-year-old Hendricks Motorsports
Development driver Chase Austin will make his CRA Super Series debut
Saturday night at Illiana Motor Speedway in the 4th Annual
Elmer Musgrave Memorial 100 Presented By Texas Corral. The Eudora,
Kansas native has been racing so far this season with the ASA Late
Model Series, and hopes to use Saturday’s event to gain valuable track
time and experience for the ASA Late Model Series event at Illiana
Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 23rd.
Austin got his 2005 late model season
started with appearances during Speedweeks in February down at New
Smyrna (FL) Speedway. In 2005 the Eudora Kansas High School sophomore
has had the opportunity to work with legendary Michigan driver Butch
Miller as well as crew chief Deon Deneau as part of the SS Racing Team
in hopes of capturing the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year
title with the ASA Late Model Series. SS Racing Team is based out of
Indianapolis, Indiana and was the team that fielded ASA Racing Series
cars in the past for Butch Miller and CRA Super Series cars and ASA
Racing Series cars for John Daziel.

Besides Austin’s late model events
this season, the SS Racing Team is also fielding a full-time ASL
Racing League ride for Jarit Johnson, younger brother of Hendricks
Motorsports NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson. The team is also fielding a
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ride in selected events for Johnson and
Butch Miller.
Austin’s #111 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
will have sponsorship from GMAC, Ditech.com and Gatorade for
Saturday’s event.
