(January 25, 2005) – Anderson Speedway will host six Super Late Models
events during the 2005 season. The CRA Super Series will compete on April
16 in a 125-lap event, July 15-16 in the 39th Annual Anderson 400 and the
final event is scheduled for August 13. Anderson Speedway will also hold
three 50-lap Super Late Model events on May 7, June 11 and September 17.
"Late Model racing has been a large part of Anderson
Speedway for many years and I’m excited about the Late Model events we
have scheduled for the upcoming season," said Rick Dawson,
Co-Owner/President of Anderson Speedway. "With the balance of three Super
Late Model races and three CRA Super Series events including the Anderson
400, fans have a great opportunity to watch some of the best short track
drivers in the Midwest."
Late Model racing has been a fixture at Anderson Speedway
for many years with names such as Bob Fields, Vic Hellis, Jim Cooper,
Dennis Miles, Ray Fullen, Bull Baker and Brian Rievley enjoying success at
the world’s fastest high-banked quarter-mile oval.
The 50-lap Super Late Model events are scheduled for May
7, June 11 and September 17. Additionally, the CRA Super Series will
compete at Anderson Speedway on April 16 in a 125-lap event, July 15-16 in
the 39th Annual Anderson 400 and the final event is slated for August 13.
Anderson Speedway’s Super Late Model car specifications
will be identical to the 2005 CRA Super Series rules. Speedway officials
will publish a tire rule for the three Super Late Model events at a later
date.
