Speed51.com Ready for 2005 SpeedFest Coverage
SPEED Channel to Show Highlights of Event on Speed News
CONCORD, NC (January 21, 2005) – Speed51.com is
hitting the road and once again they are bringing the bright lights and
television cameras of the Speed Channel with them. This time the popular
short track racing website heads to Florida for the
Super
Late Model mega show, “2005 SpeedFest” at USA International Speedway in
Lakeland, FL.
Jeremy Troiano, as well as Matthew and Bob Dillner will be
at the track for the 200-lap feature event on January 29th. Speed51.com
will also have coverage of Thursday night’s Battle of the South and
Friday’s Battle of the North preliminary events. Competitors from various
organizations, including the CRA Super Series, PASS Pro Stocks, USRA
(formerly ROMCO), Southern All Stars and the Sunbelt Series are expected
for the events.
In December, Speed51.com and SPEED Channel teamed up to
cover the annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL). Full race
coverage was posted on Speed51.com while race highlights were shown on the
network’s Sunday night program, SPEED News (on January 30th). Response was
positive from everyone involved and that’s why the SpeedFest race will be
handled the same way.
“Everyone wins with this arrangement,” explains
Speed51.com editor and SPEED Channel commentator Bob Dillner. “Hardcore
short track fans can read about all of the nuts and bolts from the track
on Speed51, and then they can see the highlights in the dead of winter on
SPEED. Plus our crew will get to spend a few days in Florida during the
middle of the winter. Everything worked out so well covering the Snowball
Derby that we had to do it again. And we are all looking forward to it
because this has the makings of being one of the premier events in all of
short track racing.”
The entry list for the event is impressive and that is
good news for racing fans that get to attend as well as those who will be
following it online or on TV.
"SpeedFest is just going to be another of those great
Super Late Model shows reminiscent of the glory days where all the series
can come together to compete,” said Speed51’s Troiano. “It is going to be
a real treat for the fans and drivers alike to be able to see drivers from
at least five different series all competing together. That just doesn't
happen in American motorsports anymore. In addition to that, the format
that the track and everyone has come up with is awesome. It could become
the big 'preseason' race that matches all of the big 'postseason' ones."
Speed51.com will have reports throughout the day,
beginning Wednesday January 26th and continuing throughout the weekend of
all the activities. Photos, driver interviews and unique stories will
bring you behind the scenes of “2005 SpeedFest.”

information by focusing on the Short Track Racing realm. 51 realized
nearly three years ago that there was a void in the industry for this type
of news and behind-the-scenes stories. Now, 51 is viewed by thousands of
viewers per day. Speed51 fuels your Short Track appetite for ARCA, ASA,
CRA Super Series, Hooters Pro Cup Series, NASCAR Touring, Southern All
Stars, Super Late Models and other racing throughout the four seasons.
