Salem, IN (September 16,
2004) –
The Sunoco Super Series Spray Power Clean Sweep Award is now
up to $900 if the Corteco Fast Qualifier for the Sunoco 150 this Saturday,
September 18th at Anderson Speedway, can also win that event.
Starting
with the Sunoco Super Series season opener at Anderson Speedway, Spray
Power has put up $150 bonus if a driver can be the events fast qualifier
and win that event. Each time the Spray Power Clean Sweep Award is not
claimed it will roll over $150 per series point’s event until the bonus is
won.
At the Sunoco Super Series
season event on last Sunday at Columbus Motor Speedway Corteco Fast
Qualifier Chuck Barnes Jr. drew a six-car inverted start, which put him
behind some very fast racecars. Barnes road behind Jim Crabtree Jr. for
several laps while early leader Gary St.Amant was passed for the lead by
eventual winner Scott Hantz. Barnes and Crabtree made contact at one point
during the race, from their Barnes began to backslide, eventually settling
for a 10th place finish while Hantz held off Robbie Pyle to
claim his second consecutive Sunoco Super Series victory.
