Kent Robinson Set To Make
Second Sunoco Super Series Start Saturday In the Sunoco 150
Salem, IN (September 16,
2004) –
Bloomington, Indiana’s Kent Robinson is set to make his second
start with the Sunoco Super Series this Saturday in the Sunoco 150 at
Anderson Speedway. It will also be Robinson’s second race ever on asphalt,
the first being his first start with the series in the NationsRent 400 on
July 17th at Anderson Speedway. In that event Robinson
qualified 27th and finished 17th, having to stop on
lap 209 because of an over-heating engine.
"I really enjoyed competing
with the Sunoco Super Series at Anderson Speedway," remarked the
17-year-old junior at Edgewood High School in Bloomington. "It was fun
driving on asphalt for the first time, if we hadn’t have had the
overheating problem we would have had a real good finish in that race. I
am looking to get some experience with the Sunoco Super Series this
season, to possibly race more with the series next year."
Robinson will be driving
Muller Motorsports #123 Muller Waste Sales/Skiles Country Auto Parts Monte
Carlo as a teammate to Eddie Van Meter for team owner Ken Muller. Robinson
started racing at the age of 7 starting out on four-wheelers. He then
progressed up to the ATV National Circuit were he earned two National
Championships in 1999 and 2000. Robinson is currently racing a Superstock
on dirt tracks around Indiana. To date Robinson has 1 feature victory in
2004 and is leading Rookie Of The Year points at two tracks. Robinson will
race Friday night at Bloomington Speedway before heading to Anderson
Speedway for Saturday nights show.
Pit gates will open this Saturday at Anderson Speedway at
2PM. Sunoco Super Series practice will begin at 4:30PM with qualifying at
6:30PM. The night’s race program will begin at 8PM and will include the
