Hantz and Hanley Win Harris
Cutting Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards
Salem, IN (November 15,
2004) – Sunoco Super Series veteran drivers Scott Hantz and Junior
Hanley have won the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Season
Lap Leader Awards for the 2004 season. Harris Cutting Torches &
Regulators, a division of Harris Calorific, will award Angola, Indiana’s
Scott Hantz, who lead the most laps in the regular 100/150 lap series
events on the 2004 schedule, with a set of Harris Cutting Torches &
Regulators at the 2004 Sunoco Super Series Awards Banquet on January 15,
2005 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hantz, the 2003 winner of
this part of the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Lap Leader Award,
lead a total of 411 laps in the 100/150 lap events. Jim Crabtree Jr. was
second with 248 laps lead followed by Jeff Lane in third with 218 laps
lead. Evan Jackson led 189 laps to finish fourth. 2004 Sunoco Super Series
Champion Chuck Barnes Jr. finished fifth with 124 laps lead. Out of this
group Lane had the most victories on the season with three followed by
Hantz and Jackson who both had two. Crabtree Jr. and Barnes Jr. both got
one victory in this group.
Canadian
veteran racer Junior Hanley will receive a set of Harris Cutting Torches &
Regulators at the series Awards Banquet for leading the most laps in the
series longer special events. Hanley lead 298 laps in claiming a victory
at the NationsRent 400 at Anderson Speedway on July 17th, those
laps were enough to get Hanley the award. Brad Mueller was second in this
category with 220 laps lead, Muller lead all his laps in the NAPA 250
Short Track Championship Rockford Speedway in September. Series Champion
Chuck Barnes Jr. was third with 133 laps led, those laps came in the All
American 300 that he won on November 7th at the Music City
Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee. Wayne Willard was fourth with 111 laps,
all his led laps also came in the All American 300. Scott Hantz finished
in fifth in this category with 102 laps led.
