The Scott Performance Wire
Tri-State Challenge Second Round Will Be This Saturday At Anderson
Speedway
Salem, IN (July 11, 2004)
–
The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge, an award program based
upon four selected Sunoco Super Series points events in three of the
states the series will visit in 2004, will have it’s second round this
Saturday with the running of the 38th Annual Anderson 400
Presented By Corteco and Great Deals.
The
Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge points leader after the
Challenges first round at Berlin Raceway on June 19th is Fred
Campbell, followed by Brian Campbell in second and Junior Hanley in third.
An interesting twist going
into the second round of the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge is
that the Campbell’s and the fourth place driver Tom Thomas are not entered
for Saturday’s event, that leaves the door open for a new Scott
Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge leader after Saturday’s event. Fifth
place Scott Hantz is in fifth six points behind Hanley. 2003 Sunoco Super
Series Champion Bobby Parsley is in sixth, nine points behind Hanley with
series rookie contender Steve Moenck in seventh ten points behind Hanley.
Jeff Lane, last years winner of the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State
Challenge, in eighth, twelve points behind Hanley.
The other two Sunoco Super
Series events involved with the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge
will be the September 12th event at Columbus Motor Speedway in
Columbus, Ohio, and the Sunoco Super Series Season Championship event on
October 24th at Salem Speedway, located in Salem, Indiana.
The Scott Performance Wire
Tri-State Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in
the four events a $400 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires. The
second place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will
receive a $300 bonus. The third place driver in the Scott Performance Wire
Tri-State Challenge will receive a $200 bonus. Scott Performance Wire will
also award the 2004 Sunoco Super Series Champion with a set of Scott
Performance Wires and an additional set of Scott Performance Wires that
will be given away by random draw of the top fifteen teams in final series
points at the 2004 series awards banquet in January.
