Salem, IN (July 6, 2004) – Pardeeville, Wisconsin’s Frank Kreyer leads the Sunoco Super Series Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Year points after five series events so far this season. With the series 1/3 of the way through its 2004 points season, there have been seven registered Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Year drivers who have participated in every series event to date. With the adjusted points, each rookie is allowed to drop their two worst finishes during the 2004 season, there is a four points spread from first to third in the adjusted points.

Kreyer leads the pack with 248 adjusted points to date, he is followed closely by Lafayette, Indiana’s Chris Gabehart with 246 points and Mokena, Illinois’s Steve Moenck with 244 points. Louisville, Kentucky native Greg Boone is in fourth with 210 adjusted points followed by Fort Wayne, Indiana’s Bud Adams in fifth with 198 points, followed closely by Nobelville, Indiana’s Joe Beaver in sixth with 194 points. Rounding out the top seven is Palos Hills, Illinois driver Jim Malinowski with 179 points. Other registered rookie drivers with points this season include Danny Jackson in eighth with 170 points, Mike Bargo in ninth with 114 points and Brett Jursik in tenth with 83 points.

Frank Keyer has been the Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Race at three Sunoco Super Series events so far this season, including his season high finish of fifth in the series season opener on April 17^th at Anderson Speedway. Kreyer finished eleventh at Indianapolis Raceway Park on May 16^th and tenth at Illiana Motor Speedway on June 26^th, both finishes earned him Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Race awards.

Steve Moenck has been the Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Race at the other two series events this season including his victory at Shadybowl Speedway on May 22^nd followed by a sixth place finish at Berlin Raceway on June 19^th. His victory was the first by a series registered rookie since Scott Hantz won three series events on his way to winning the 2000 series rookie of the year and championship.

Chris Gabehart’s consistency during the season has helped him keep pace with Kreyer. Gabehart’s best finish of the season was sixth, also in the series season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17^th. Greg Boone’s best finish of the season was in that same event at Anderson Speedway were he finished tenth. Bud Adams best finish to date was eleventh at Berlin Raceway on June 19^th. Joe Beaver’s best finish of the season was also at the Berlin race were he finished sixteenth. Jim Malinowski got his best finish of seventeenth at Shadybowl Speedway on May 22^nd.

The next test for the Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Year drivers will be the 38^th Annual Anderson 400 Presented By Corteco and Great Deals at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, July 17^th. This grueling 400-lap event could go a long way in determining who the 2004 Sunoco Super Series Backstretch Performance/Blake Carburetion/Reed Cams Rookie Of The Year will be.
