Interest High for Schwanke’s $7,200 Engine Program for Sunoco Super Series

ASA Champ Kevin Cywinski Planning to Run SSS Races with Sealed Engine as Schedule Permits

Springfield, Minnesota (January 27, 2003) - Tim Schwanke announced today that his company, Schwanke Engines, is building 12 more Sealed Engine packages prompted by eleven more calls from Sunoco Super Series teams. Three of these teams interested have raced with the Series in the past, and the remaining eight have not. The new teams noted their interest in the Series was sparked because of the $7,200 guaranteed engine lease package and the Series commitment to ensure their competitive level.

One of the nation’s top short track drivers is also planning to run the Schwanke Sealed Engine in a few appearances with the Sunoco Super Series in 2004, according to the Minnesota engine builder. Defending ASA National Tour champion Kevin Cywinski will look to run his first races with the Series during off weekends, while in pursuit of his second straight title with ASA.

Schwanke also noted that local tracks in and around the Sunoco Super Series area are now adding the Sealed Engine program option to their rules. The "High Performance" but "Low-Cost" alternative is now making it possible for teams to race locally and support the Sunoco Super Series races when they are in their area. Of special note, is Slinger Speedway’s use of the Sealed Engine in their Super Late Model class in 2004. Slinger Speedway veterans have made numerous appearances with the Sunoco Super Series, and this rules package will help continue that trend.

Tracks using Schwanke Sealed Engine program for two year running are Motordrome Speedway, PA and I94 Raceway, Sauk Center, MN. Tracks implementing the Schwanke Sealed Engine Program are I94 Speedway, Fergus Falls, MN, Mid America Racing Series, Dixie, Auto City and Tri City in MI, Tiago Motorsports Park, NY, Northwest Challenge Series and Western Racing League and Kalispell, MT in the Northwest with more tracks expressing interest daily.

Nextel Cup star Dave Blaney was so impressed with the performance and affordability of the Sealed Engine program, that his weekly race track, Sharon Speedway, will introduce a new, affordable class of sprint cars for 2004, solely using Schwanke's Sealed Engine program.

Race organizers interested in developing an easy-to-manage, Sealed Engine program at their track for under $10,000.00-$12,000.00 should call 800-423-6571.

The Schwanke Sealed Engine will make its debut in the Sunoco Super Series at the season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17th. For more information about the Schwanke Engines, visit www.schwankeshortblocks.com.
