	Bobby Parsley And Others Honored At 2003 Sunoco Super Series Awards Banquet Banquet Awards Salem, IN (January 18, 2004) – Shepherdsville, Kentucky native Bobby Parsley was officially honored as the 2003 Sunoco Super Series Champion this past Saturday night at the 2003 Sunoco Super Series Season Awards Banquet held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The banquet attracted a great crowd of Sunoco Super Series teams, sponsors, guest and officials who were treated to a great evening of food, the awards presentation, and entertainment. The championship presentation for the twenty-year-old Parsley put the finishing touch on a truly inspiring season that started with Parsley winning the Sunoco Super Series 2003 opening event at Anderson Speedway, Parsley’s first ever win with the Sunoco Super Series. Parsley went on to win the prestigious Anderson 400 and then closed his championship-winning season by winning the Sunoco Super Series season championship event, the Car Brite 400 at Winchester Speedway to claim the Sunoco Super Series Championship with an exclamation point! "I want to thank my family for making all of this possible," remarked Parsley. "My father, the team owner, and my mother have dedicated most of their lives and money to my racing career over the past several years. I have to thank Junior Hanley, he has always been there for me and was a big part of the reason we won this championship. I have to say a special thanks to my friend and Crew Chief Jeff Martin. He is one of the main reasons I’m standing here tonight receiving the championship trophy. Jeff put in a lot of work for every race all season long. I also want to thank Rick Alexander for being a great spotter, helping guide me to the great runs that led to this championship. I have never had a sponsor until this season. I want to thank Richard Woolums, the owner of Crown Spray Power All Purpose Cleaner, for coming on board with us during the season, if he hadn’t, we probably couldn’t have raced all in all the series events this season!" In all the Parsley Racing team collected over $17,000 of the $60,550 in money and contingencies that were awarded to the top fifteen drivers in final Sunoco Super Series points. Some of the Product Awards Parsley received included a Late Model Racecar Body from Aluminum Race Products, a Racing Suit from RJS Racing Equipment, a Helmet from Impact Racing, a Welder from Lincoln Welders and a $500 Product Certificate from Mid-west Speed. In addition, Parsley received an embroidered champions leather jacket from Goodyear Racing Tires and Larry Robinson Enterprises. Twenty one year old Louisville, Kentucky native Chuck Barnes Jr. received the Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Of The Year Award. Barnes Jr. received over $10,000 in money and contingencies for winning the rookie award, and finishing 8th in the final series points. Barnes Jr. was the Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Of The Race seven times during the 2003 season. Jeff Martin, Crew Chief for Sunoco Super Series Champion Bobby Parsley, received the Gladiator GarageWorks Crew Chief Year Award. Martin finished 10 points ahead of Pat Anderson, Crew Chief for Scott Hantz, during the 2003 season to get the award. Martin received a $1000 Product Certificate from Gladiator GarageWorks. Series veteran racer Todd Oliver was named the 2003 TDR Screen Graphics Sportsman Of The Year. Oliver, an Indianapolis, Indiana native, received a $600 bonus from TDR Screen Graphics for the great sportsmanship he displayed during the 2003 season. Terry Fisher Jr., third in the Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Of The Year points, received the EMF Corporation Hang Tough bonus. Fisher Jr. finished 10^th in the final series points with a lot of hard work and determination during the season. Fisher Jr. was presented a $200 bonus from Dick Poe, owner of EMF Corporation. Ron Breese Jr. and Scott Hantz were awarded the Harris Torches Lap Leader Awards. Breese Jr. led the most laps of the series special events, while Hantz led the most laps of the series regular shows during the 2003 season. Both drivers were awarded a set of torches from Bill Kingsley, District Sales Manager for Harris Torches. During the evening there were several Product Awards given to teams attending the banquet by random draw. Veteran series racer Bull Baker was the big winner of the night, Baker’s name was drawn for a complete body from Five-Star Racecar Bodies. Eddie Van Meter, driver for Muller Motorsports, won a Welder from Lincoln Welders, which was presented to him by Lou Vitucci, District Sales Manager for Lincoln Electric Company. Chris Gabehart, driver for Hendricks County Motorsports and series veteran Junior Hanley, each won a set of Goodyear Racing Tires for the 2004 season from Goodyear Racing Tires and Larry Robinson Enterprises.
