Yahoo! Sponsors #39 in NASCAR Busch
Series for 2004

With the
ever-increasing popularity of NASCAR in America today, Jay Robinson Racing
is proud to announce a new sponsor relationship with Yahoo! in the NASCAR
Busch Series for the entire 2004 season with options for years 2005 and
2006. This is the first time Yahoo! has been a primary sponsor in NASCAR
racing. Yahoo! is a leading global Internet media company which offers an
array of products and services to 263 million monthly users worldwide.
Yahoo! will team up with
Jay Robinson
Racing to sponsor the #39 Yahoo! Ford Taurus for the 2004 NASCAR Busch
Series. The Yahoo! car will be driven by Busch Series “Rookie of the
Year”candidate Andy Ponstein, a Hudsonville, Michigan native. The race
season for the Yahoo! team will start at the Daytona International
Speedway on February 14, 2004. For the Daytona race only, Busch Series
veteran Rich Markle in the #68 car will assist Jay Robinson Racing and
will drive with the Yahoo! colors and logo. Ponstein will take over with
car #39 and the Yahoo! Team starting with Rockingham on February 21st.
NASCAR veteran and 1990 Daytona 500 Champion Derrike Cope, driver of the
Jay Robinson Racing team car #49 Advil Liqui- Gel Ford Taurus, will assist
to speed up the learning curve for rookie Ponstein.
Ponstein has continued to be a regular competitor
at Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan, producing seven victories, 21 top-five
finishes and 24 top-tens. He has driven in both ARCA and the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series in 2003.
The Crew Chief for the new #39 Yahoo! Ford Taurus
will be former Winston West Champion driver Mike Chase.
