Corteco To Be Major Corporate Sponsor With The Sunoco Super Series

Salem, IN (February 5, 2004) – Officials of the Sunoco Super Series in conjunction with representatives of Corteco have announced that Corteco will be a Major Corporate Sponsor with the Sunoco Super Series during the upcoming 2004 race season. Corteco will be involved with the series on several different levels including an Official Product Sponsor were Corteco Gaskets will be the Official Gaskets of the Sunoco Super Series for the 2004 race season. In addition Corteco will be a series Award Sponsor, a series Contingency Product Sponsor and the Presenting Sponsor of one of the series major events in 2004.

Corteco will be the sponsor of the Corteco Fast Qualifier Award at every Sunoco Super Series event in 2004. The Corteco Fast Qualifier at the series regular 100 & 150 lap events will receive a $100 bonus from Corteco Gaskets. The Corteco Fast Qualifier at the series bigger events including the Anderson 400, the 250 lap event at Rockford Speedway and the World Cup 300 at I-70 Speedway will receive a $200 bonus from Corteco. In addition, Corteco will award a $1000 bonus to the Sunoco Super Series driver that wins the most Corteco Fast Qualifier Awards during the 2004 season.

The Corteco Gaskets Contingency Product Sponsor Program will award a $100 Product Certificate at each Sunoco Super Series event in 2004 to the highest finishing team using Corteco Gaskets. Also included in that program will be a $200 Product Certificate that will be awarded to the highest finishing Corteco Gaskets user in final 2004 Sunoco Super Series points, and a $150 Product Certificate that will be awarded to the second highest finishing Corteco Gaskets user in final 2004 Sunoco Super Series points.

Corteco will be a Presenting Sponsor of the 37th annual running of the Anderson 400 on Saturday, July 17th at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, Indiana. Track owners Rick Dawson and Skip Waymire will once again host this prestigious Sunoco Super Series event that is recognized as one of the top traditional short track events in the country. The Sunoco Super Series first sanctioned the Anderson 400 in 2000. Kenny Tweedy got the honors of winning the first Sunoco Super Series sanctioned Anderson 400. Series veteran Bull Baker won the rain shortened Anderson 400 in 2001. Racing veteran Chet Fillip won in 2002, becoming the only driver in history to win both the Anderson 400 and the Little 500, the famous 500-lap sprint car event held each year at Anderson Speedway on the Saturday night prior to the Indianapolis 500. Bobby Parsley won the Anderson 400 this past season on his way to taking the 2004 Sunoco Super Series Championship.
