Performance To Sponsor Sunoco Super Series Rookie Award Program And The
Backstretch Performance Anderson Speedway Challenge
Salem, IN (February 3, 2004) –
Sunoco Super
Series officials have announced that Backstretch Performance
of Anderson, Indiana will be a Sponsor with the Sunoco Super Series Rookie
Award Program during the 2004 season and will sponsor the Backstretch
Performance Anderson Speedway Challenge involving the three Sunoco Super
Series events at Anderson Speedway in 2004.
Backstretch Performance will be a sponsor with the
very popular Rookie Award Program for the 2004 Sunoco Super Series racing
season. The program will pay out bonuses to the two highest finishing
registered series rookies at every Sunoco Super Series point’s event on
the 2004 schedule. The registered rookie finishing the highest in 2004
Backstretch Performance Rookie Award Program Points will be awarded a
$1,000 bonus from Backstretch Performance. More details on the 2004 Sunoco
Super Series Rookie Award Program will be released at a later date when
all program sponsorship and awards have been secured.
The Backstretch Performance Anderson Speedway
Challenge will be a bonus program for the three Sunoco Super Series
drivers that have the best overall performance at the three Sunoco Super
Series events at Anderson Speedway in 2004. Those events would include the
series season opener on April 17th, the Anderson 400 on July 17th
and the Sunoco 150 on September 18th. The driver with the best
overall performance in those three events will receive a $500 bonus from
Backstretch Performance. The driver with the second best overall
performance will receive a $300 bonus with the driver with the third best
overall performance receiving a $200 bonus from Backstretch Performance.
Backstretch Performance is located just outside
the backstretch of Anderson Speedway on 29th Street in
Anderson, Indiana. Backstretch Performance provides a full line of racing
and street performance parts and fabrication. Anderson, Indiana
businessman Ray Yockey, a long time supporter of racing especially at
Anderson Speedway, owns Backstretch Performance.
Backstretch Performance will have an open house
this Friday, February 6th with a live remote from radio station
WHBU from 3 to 5PM. Yockey Motorsports veteran driver Joe Beaver, a
legendary racer at Anderson Speedway and veteran Sunoco Super Series
driver Bull Baker will be on hand to visit with fans and customers. For
