Hantz and Hanley Lead Harris
Cutting Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards

Sunoco Super Series veteran drivers Scott Hantz and Junior
Hanley currently lead the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators
Season
Lap Leader Awards after 11 of 18 events on the 2004 series schedule.
Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators, a division of Harris Calorific, will
award the Sunoco Super Series driver that leads the most laps in the
regular 100/150 lap series events on the 2004 schedule with a set of
Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators. Hantz currently leads in that
category with 292 laps lead to date.
Hantz, the 2003 winner of
this part of the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Lap Leader Award, has
a 103 lap lead over second place Evan Jackson who has lead 189 laps in the
shorter distance series races. Jeff Lane is currently third with 178 laps
lead and is followed by current Sunoco Super Series point’s leader Chuck
Barnes Jr. in fourth with 124 laps lead. Fred Campbell rounds out the top
five with 97 laps lead.
In addition, Harris Cutting
Torches & Regulators will award the driver who leads the most laps in the
special multi lap events on the 2004 Sunoco Super Series schedule with a
set of Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators. The NationsRent 400 at
Anderson Speedway on July 17th is the only event held in that
category to date. Junior Hanley, winner of the NationsRent 400 lead 298
laps of that event. Scott Hantz has second in that category with 102 laps
lead, he was the only other leader of that event. The series events at
Rockford Speedway on September 26th, at I-70 Speedway on
October 9th and the All American 400 Weekend at Music City
Motorplex will be the other special multi lap series events in 2004.
In all Hantz has lead 394
total laps with the Sunoco Super Series this season, but just got his
first series victory of 2004 last Saturday night in the Sunoco UAW Family
Night 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Hantz has had a season filled with
bad luck that has left him with the one victory and has placed him
currently in 4th place in series points. The Harris Cutting
Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards will be presented at the
2004 Sunoco Super Series Awards Banquet in January.
The next Sunoco Super Series
event will be the Second Annual Federated Auto Parts Buckeye Bash
Presented By Country Legends K 95.5 on Sunday, September 12 at Columbus
Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. The event will feature NASCAR Nextel Cup
star Ken Schrader and former ASA Racing Series Champions Mike Eddy and
Gary St.Amant, racing in the Federated Auto Parts 150 Sunoco Super Series
event that afternoon. The Second Annual Federated Auto Parts Buckeye Bash
will also feature the Sizzle Marine 75 Presented By Germain Chevrolet
Outlaw Super Late Model Invitational and the Ohio Street Stock
Championship.
