Salem, IN (August 27, 2004) – Chuck Barnes Sr., Crew Chief for current Sunoco Super Series point’s leader Chuck Barnes Jr., leads the Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Year Standings with seven Sunoco Super Series events left on the 2004 schedule. Barnes Sr. currently holds a ten point lead over second place Hayden Butler, Crew Chief for Jeff Lane, who is third in series points and Pat Anderson, Crew Chief for Scott Hantz, who is fourth in series points. Tied for fourth place in the Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Year Standings are Jimmy King, Crew Chief for part-time series competitor Evan Jackson, and Junior Hanley, who is his own Crew Chief, both are twenty five points behind Barnes Sr.

The Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Award Program honors each Sunoco Super Series event winner’s crew chief with the Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Race Award. Each winner of the Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Race Award receives $200 in product from Gladiator™ GarageWorks. The winning crew chief at every event receives 15 points. The second place crew chief receives 10 points, and the third place crew chief receives 5 points. The crew chief with the most points at the end of the season will be the Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Year and will receive $1,000 in product from Gladiator™ GarageWorks.

Jeff Martin, Crew Chief for 2003 Sunoco Super Series Champion Bobby Parsley, was the first Gladiator™ GarageWorks Crew Chief Of The Year Award winner with the Sunoco Super Series in 2003.
