Victory Chapel Ministries to Return to Sunoco Super Series
in 2004
Wayne and Nancy Moeckel to
Provide Spiritual Leadership for the Teams of the Series
Salem, IN (April 6, 2004)
-
For the second straight
year, Wayne and Nancy Moeckel, with their
Victory Chapel Ministries, will be part of the Sunoco Super Series for the
2004 season. The pair provided spiritual leadership to the teams,
officials and fans last year, and are looking forward to the new season.
"We made a lot of good
friends last year," commented Wayne Moeckel, "and truly enjoyed the
opportunity to share God’s word with those involved in the Series that
wanted to participate" The Moeckel’s lead a small service, usually after
each drivers’ meeting, at each event on the schedule. "While the Victory
Chapel at each event allows all of us to get together for a few minutes to
share God’s word, much more sharing is done during the day, individually.
First and foremost, we are just friends to everyone out there, and we
share our faith with those who choose to do likewise."
Typically, beside the
Victory Chapel Service, the Moeckel’s provide lemonade and/or tea for the
teams near the tech area, and also hosted a "corn roast" last year, with
help form Anderson Speedway promoter Rick Dawson. Support for the Ministry
comes entirely from teams and fans of the series. A small number of teams
and sponsors have already committed to financial support of Victory
Chapel, but many more are still needed.
"We are really fortunate to
have Victory Chapel back again," noted R. J. Scott, managing partner of
the Sunoco Super Series. "I got to work with Wayne and Nancy when they
were in a similar capacity with ASA for years. I really enjoy how they
guide spiritually from a ‘friendship’ point of view. They are really laid
back and fit in great with Sunoco Super Series family. I would encourage
everyone to support Victory Chapel where possible…no matter what you put
into it, you’ll get considerably more out of it. It is truly a great
relationship."
Wayne and Nancy will join
the rest of the teams at the season opener on April 17th, at Anderson
Speedway. They can be reached by phone at 800-593-3225 or by email at
