Jeff Lane Leads The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge After Three Of Four Events

Salem, IN (September 9, 2003) – After three of the four events involved, Jeff Lane holds an 11 point lead in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge over second place Junior Hanley and a 23 point lead over third place Scott Hantz, who was the Challenge leader after two events. The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge, an award program based upon four selected Sunoco Super Series points events in three of the states the series will visit in 2003, began on Sunday, May 26 at Mt. Lawn Speedway which was won by Jeff Lane. The second event of the award program was on June 14 at Berlin Raceway, which was won by Scott Hantz. The third event of the award program was on July 26^th at Shady Bowl Speedway, which was won by current leader Jeff Lane.

The final event in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge is the Sunoco 150 this Saturday, September 13th at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, Indiana. Bobby Parsley has claimed victory at the two Sunoco Super Series events held at Anderson Speedway so far this season. Parsley, the series season point’s leader, is pretty much out of contention in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge. He is currently in 9^th place, 65 points behind leader Jeff Lane.

The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the four events a $400 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires. The second place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $300 bonus. The third place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $200 bonus. Scott Performance Wire will also award the 2003 Sunoco Super Series Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires and an additional set of Scott Performance Wires that will be given away by random draw of the top fifteen teams in final series points at the 2003 series awards banquet in January.
