Goodyear Announces Tires to Be Used for Patriot 200

Tire Dealer to Accept Wheels in Advance to Pre-mount Tires

(Salem-IN) October 7, 2003 – Officials from Goodyear Racing Tires have announced their selection for tires that will be used for the Patriot 200 at Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville on October 18.  The 2998 will be used for right side tires, while the 2772 will be used for left side tires.  Teams will not have access to these tires until open practice on Friday, October 17.  Goodyear has also designated Danny Denson and his company, “Full Throttle Race Parts and Equipment”, as the tire dealer.  Denson and his staff have been the Official Tire Dealer at Nashville during Goodyear’s tenure there.

Teams may send their clearly marked wheels to “Full Throttle” to have their tires mounted in advance of their arrival in Nashville.  Teams that do so will have the benefit of knowing their tires are mounted and waiting on them upon their arrival, and not be concerned with the time that it takes to have tires mounted the morning of practice.

Prior to shipping, teams should contact Danny Denson at 615-578-2667.  Teams should mark their wheels with car number/team name and whether they are left side or right side wheels.  Wheels may be shipped to:  Full Throttle Race Parts / Fairgrounds Speedway / Tennessee State Fairgrounds / 625 Smith Ave. / Nashville, TN 37204.

Tires for practice will be released Friday, October 17.  Qualifying tires will not be released until just prior to Saturday’s qualifying.  Although the compound is slightly harder, teams can prepare for tires similar to the more commonly used 2402/2372’s.

The Patriot 200 at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville is a template late model event organized by the Sunoco Super Series, Southern All-Stars and American Speed Association.  The “North/South Shoot-out” on Saturday, October 18 is expected to pit the top late model stars in the country against each other for national bragging rights and a guaranteed starting spot with an all expense paid ride in the ASA BF Goodrich 300 the next day.  An accommodating and equalizing set of rules have been established for the Patriot 200.  Rules, entry forms and more information can be found at any of the websites of the affiliated sanctioning bodies: www.sunocosuperseries.com, www.southern-allstars.com, or www.asaracing.com.  Interested parties can also call 812-883-0455.
