Breese Jr. Claim Sunoco Super Series Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators
Season Lap Leader Awards

and DeKalb, Illinois’s Ron Breese
Jr. won the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards
for the Sunoco Super Series 2003 season. Hantz, who was the runner up in
season championship points to Bobby
Parsley, led the most laps in the
100/150 lap series events. Hantz led a total of 403 laps beating out Jeff
Lane who finished second, leading 383 laps. Fred Campbell finished third
with 289 laps lead, Andy Ponstein was fourth with 168 laps lead followed
by Junior Hanley in fifth with 135 laps lead.
Part-time Sunoco Super Series competitor Ron Breese Jr. led the most laps
in the four 200/250/400 lap events in the 2003 season, which concluded
last Saturday with the Patriot 200 at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville,
Tennessee. Breese led a total of 256 laps, which he did by leading from
the start to the finish of the Sunoco Super Series event at Rockford
Speedway on September 21st. That event went 6 laps over it’s
scheduled 250 to get a green flag finish. Finishing second behind Breese
Jr. was Junior Hanley with 138 laps lead. In third was Kenny Tweedy with
136 laps lead, followed by Bobby Parsley with 117 laps lead in fourth and
Jeff Lane with 69 laps lead in fifth.
Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators, a division of Harris Calorific, will
award both Scott Hantz and Ron Breese Jr. with a set of Harris Cutting
Torches & Regulators at the 2003 Sunoco Super Series Awards Banquet on
January 17th, 2004 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Downtown
Indianapolis.
