The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge After Two Events
Salem, IN (July 22, 2003)
– After two of the four events involved, Scott
Hantz holds a 12 point lead
in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge over second place Jeff
Lane and a 17 point lead over third place Chuck Barnes Jr. The Scott
Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge, an award program based upon four
selected Sunoco Super Series points events in three of the states the
series will visit in 2003, began on Sunday, May 26 at Mt. Lawn Speedway
which was won by Jeff Lane. The second event of the award program was on
June 14 at Berlin Raceway, which was won by Scott Hantz.
The next event in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge is this
Saturday, July 26 at Shady Bowl Speedway located in DeGraff, Ohio. Jeff
Lane claimed a victory at Shady Bowl Speedway last season, while Scott
Hantz experienced bad luck at both series events at Shady Bowl Speedway
last season. The final event of the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State
Challenge will be on Saturday, September 13 at Anderson
Speedway located in Anderson, Indiana.
The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will pay the driver who
gets the most series points in the four events a $400 bonus and a set of
Scott Performance Wires. The second place driver in the Scott Performance
Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $300 bonus. The third place driver
in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $200
bonus. Scott Performance Wire will also award the 2003 Sunoco Super Series
Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires and an additional set of
Scott Performance Wires that will be given away by random draw of the top
fifteen teams in final series points at the 2003 series awards banquet in
January.
