Salem, IN (July
23, 2003) –
Officials from the CRA/Sunoco Super Series and Federated
Auto Parts announced today that national auto parts distributor would
serve as the title sponsor for the “Federated Auto Parts Buckeye Bash” at
Columbus Motor Speedway in Ohio on Sunday, September 7th.
Headlining the
event will be the Sunoco Super Series Late Models in the Federated Auto
Parts 150. NASCAR stars Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be on hand to
battle the top short track stars in the exciting 150 lap tilt. Also, on
the card will be the USA Modified series, and the $1000 to win Ohio Street
Stock Championship.
“This should be one
exciting event,” CRA/Sunoco Super Series founder R. J. Scott noted. “We
had a great race in our initial visit to Columbus last year, and with Ken
Schrader and Kenny Wallace committed, it will be even better. Plus,
bringing on a great company like Federated Auto Parts, will take the
“Buckeye Bash” to the next level right out of the box.”
“We’re really
excited to be on board for this event,” said John Pisani, Director of
Operations for the area distributor for Federated Auto Parts. “We’ve just
begun our efforts in the Columbus market this year and already have some
great professional installers on board. Plus, Federated has a great
relationship with Ken Schrader as the sponsor on many of his short track
cars and his NASCAR Craftsman Truck. We are really looking forward to
putting some of our customers in one location with our driver. We can
easily see how the Federated Auto Parts Buckeye Bash will become a real
racing jewel to the state of Ohio.”
Racing for the
Sunday September 7th Federated Auto Parts Buckeye Bash is
slated to start at 2 pm. Tickets for the event will go on sale Saturday,
August 16th. Seating is limited, so everyone is encouraged to
get their tickets early.
