Salem,
Ind. (January 6, 2003) - Dan Terrell, owner of Terrell Motorsports,
announced today that they would compete full-time with the Sunoco Super Series in 2003 with Indianapolis, Indiana's Doug Greig at the wheel.
This will be Terrell's first time as a car owner with a late model,
Terrell has owned and raced Legend Cars
for several years. Terrell
Motorsports is based in Martinsville, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis.
We are really excited
about moving up to race in the Sunoco Super Series in 2003, remarked
Terrell. I have purchased some good equipment including the Lefthander
car that Matt Hagans raced last season with the Sunoco Super Series.
Matt has committed some time to help us with our setups and is going to
work with Doug on getting familiar with the different tracks we will
race at this season. I believe Doug has the talent to be very
competitive with this great series!
Greig has raced for 15
years in several different types of racecars. Greig has had tremendous
success racing Legend Cars with eighty-nine feature wins and eleven
championships including one this past season racing for Terrell
Motorsports. Greig has also competed for many seasons at the Speedrome
in Indianapolis in the Outlaw Figure 8 division were he won the Carmel
Sod Spring Fling Championship last season. Greig has seven ASA starts
and has attempted to make a couple of Sunoco Super Series events in the
past, but suffered blown motors in practice both times.
I am really looking
forward to the 2003 season, commented Greig. In the past I tried to
make some Sunoco Super Series shows, but the equipment I had was not
what I needed, that will change in 2003, Dan Terrell is going to give me
the equipment it takes to compete with this series. Our goal is to be
competitive and make all the races, if we can have some good runs
hopefully we will be in contention to win the 2003 Rookie Of The Year
title.
The Terrell Motorsports
team will have sponsorship help from Robertson Drywall, Half Pint
Towing, Roby Trucking, and DWT Land Holdings. The team will have a
second car as a back up for Greig, and team owner Dan Terrell may race
it in a few selected Sunoco Super Series events.
