Race At Mansfield Motorsports Speedway
Salem,
Ind. (January 16, 2003) - CRA Sunoco Super Series officials have
announced that Mansfield Motorsports Speedway has scheduled a Sunoco
Super Series event for the upcoming 2003 season. The Sunoco Super Series
will have a 100-lap feature event as a part of the Mansfield Motorsports
Speedway Mothers Day Special on Saturday night, May 10th, the night
before the day we honor our mothers.
The banked ˝ mile oval,
located just outside Mansfield, Ohio is presently undergoing some major
improvements for the 2003 season. A new 6,500-seat grandstand is
currently being erected on the front stretch, along with new restrooms
and a new concession stand. The pit area is also being expanded and
improved so there will be plenty of room for every division competing in
2003. A new lighting system was installed prior to the 2002 season along
with major improvements to the racing area.
“We are extremely happy
to add Mansfield Motorsports Speedway to the 2003 Sunoco Super Series
schedule,” remarked R.J. Scott, Managing Partner of the Sunoco Super
Series. “With the major improvements that are in the process of being
completed and the improvements that have already been done, this
facility will be one of the nicest the Sunoco Super Series will visit
during the 2003 season. This expansion east for the series will
hopefully make the series more attractive to some drivers in eastern
Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.”
