News From Daytona Int'l Speedway

Fla. (February 6, 2003) -
Sunoco Super Series veteran Matt Hagans
qualified his Turbine Engine Consultants Dodge 11th
today for the ARCA RE/MAX Series Advance Auto Parts 200 this Saturday at
4 p.m. at Daytona Int'l Speedway. Hagans had been in the top 15 in all
three practice sessions prior to qualifying this afternoon.
Former Sunoco Super
Series competitor Shelby Howard had a very disappointing day when his
transmission broke coming to take the green flag on his qualifying
run. Howard was the fastest car in this morning practice. Howard will
start 35th, the first provisional starting position.
Vern Slagh, the car owner
of Sunoco Super Series part-time competitors Fred and Brian Campbell
qualified his Quality Car Wash /DJ's One Stop Pontiac in 12th, he'll
start on the outside of Matt Hagans. Veteran driver Shawna Robinson
qualified Slagh's back-up car in the 13th starting position, she'll
line-up right behind Hagans!

Sunoco Super Series
owners R.J. Scott and Glenn Luckett will be in Daytona for Saturday's
ARCA RE/MAX Series race. They plan on sending results of that race, as
well as highlights from the late model action at New Smyrna next week!
