Sunoco Super Series Names New Flagman
Salem, Ind. (February
21, 2002) The CRA Sunoco Super Series announced that Keith
Ousley will handle the flagman duties in 2002. The position came
available when Bret James announced that personal and professional
commitments would not allow him to handle the flagman duties this
season.
For
the newcomer, Ousley, the 2002 season holds great promise. "I am
really excited about this opportunity," the northern Indiana resident
said. "When I stopped racing myself, I still wanted to stay in the
sport. I found a home in the flag stand at the beginning of the 2001
season. Since then I've worked with some great people and got to learn
from some of the best."
"I
have been a big fan of this series since their first race at Plymouth
Speedway and I´m really looking forward to working with the teams and
other officials for the whole season. I can't think of a better group
of people to work with week-in and week-out."
During 2001, Ousley was the flagman for Plymouth Speedway, as well as
serving stints as flagman at Anderson Speedway, Indianapolis Raceway
Park and the Indoor Midget races at Ft. Wayne.
"He's
going to do an outstanding job," series director Glenn Luckett noted.
"He has learned a lot in a short period of time, and he is eager to be
a part of our team. Those are the kind of people we want. I would like
to thank Bret James for the outstanding job he did for the series the
past two seasons; Bret was a part of every racers family!"
