Salem,
Ind. (December 21, 2002) - Thunder Valley Speedway, the former M-40
Motorsports Arena, will host a Sunoco Super Series event for the first
time ever on Saturday, July 5, 2003. The 3/8-mile semi-banked track
located in Jones, Michigan is under new ownership for the 2003 season.
The ownership group includes Cass Casstelucci, Bill Brown, and Steve
Brown. The group purchased the track during the 2002 season, but elected
to only host one event in 2002. That event, the Halloween Hustle,
attracted over 180 racecars from all over the region.
Thunder Valley Speedway
has scheduled a full season of racing events on Saturday nights for
2003. The July 5th Sunoco Super Series event will be the premier event
on the Thunder Valley Speedway 2003 schedule.
The July 5th Sunoco Super Series event at Thunder Valley Speedway will be the second half
of a big Holiday Weekend of racing for the Sunoco Super Series. The
series will visit Angola Motor Speedway on Friday, July 4th for the
annual Firecracker 150. The series will then travel about an hour west
for the 150-lap event at Thunder Valley Speedway on Saturday, July
5th.
“We are really excited about being a part of this big weekend of racing with the Sunoco Super
Series,” remarked Bill Brown, General Manager of Thunder Valley
Speedway. “This will be the biggest event on our 2003 schedule, Sunoco
Super Series fans should see plenty of racing action and fireworks on
that weekend!”
“We are very happy to be a part of Thunder Valley Speedway's 2003 racing program,” commented
R.J. Scott, Managing Partner of the Sunoco Super Series. “The location
of this track makes it easy for our fans and racers to travel and see
two premier Sunoco Super Series racing events, it will be a great
weekend for everyone involved!”
